SALIENT FEATURES OF CAMCORDERS

A camcorder is basically a video camera and a video recorder in a single device. The major parts of a camcorder are lens, imager and a recorder. The lens of the camcorder covers the shutter, zoom and aperture. In a professional camcorder the lens is controlled manually for all the optical purposes and in the consumer camcorders it is controlled by the electronics. The major function of the camcorder lens is to concentrate light on the imager. The purpose of the recorder is to write the video signs to the recording medium. The recording control system is controlled by the user.
